PAT MCAFEE has revealed he was the target of a terrifying assassination threat.
The ESPN host shared that an online instigator was calling for someone to “Kirk” him.
The message was a reference to the killing of Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated during an event at Utah Valley University last year.
Kirk was a right-wing political activist and founder of Turning Point USA.
He was fatally shot in the neck while speaking on stage at a rally on September 10, 2025.
McAfee shared the message with viewers of his show on Monday.

“Someone just said they wanted me to get ‘Kirked’ live on air. What does that mean?” he said.
“That’s crazy… I hope that doesn’t happen by the way.”
McAfee also displayed a screenshot of the post, which has since been deleted.
“If someone kirked him live during his show it would be a top 3 moment in the history of mankind,” the post said.

The comment was in response to McAfee praising his Indianapolis Colts for their close loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
McAfee went on to try calming the discourse around various comments he makes, urging people not to take his words out of context.
“I think a lot of people are saying a lot of stuff on here that I don’t say,” he said.
“And then they just say, ‘This is what he just said.’ And people are like, ‘Yeah, that is what he just said!’
“No, I did not say that.”
